tags: blah  art school  my life

Lately, I’ve been falling behind on my school work, so unfortunately I won’t have the chance to post anything new (but then again, I feel like that’s old news anyways). Hopefully once the semester is over, I’ll be able to work on some personal projects and be able to share them here. I’ve been trying to find inspiration, but my brain seems so fried. It’s been a dull semester and I’m not too sure where to begin, and that goes for everything: my homework assignments, daily sketches, inspiration, fixing my sleep schedule, my life, etc. It’s all kind of a blur right now (my contacts also seem to be failing me, literally, but no, seriously) but hopefully I’ll be able to see straight sometime in the near future. Obviously, the sooner the better but I guess beggars can’t be choosers, right?

By the way, it’s about 8:30 am and I’m still not sleeping. I think that’s saying something, but I’ll be darned if I knew what it is.

My homework assignment for Computers in the Studio. I probably spent way too much time on this.
The assignment was to create a piece on photoshop that would portray the sound of a piece of music, without the focus being on its lyrics (if it had any). The song I chose was MF Dooms “Doomsday” and in my head, I think my image works. But I guess it’s how you look at it. Either way, I’m quite happy with my end result.

I was inspired by Matt Wisniewski’s digital collage work.

I made my friend Derrick, aka my musical soulmate, do a doodle in my sketchbook last Friday. Out of boredom/procrastination I added some things to it. It’s still unfinished, but I’m quite content with how it’s progressing :)
I guess you could call this a pre-collab.

Here’s a screenshot of a recent project I did! It’s a book jacket in correspondance to our “6-word memoir” for computer class. Those squiggly-hair-things took quite a while to draw, but vectoring them on Illustrator literally took FOREVER. So glad I’m finally done though, and I’m quite happy with the outcome of my book jacket. Oh, and if you can’t see, my 6-word memoir is “start to die, learn to live”. It was inspired by my literature teacher in tenth grade who once said to us “you start dying once you’re born”. Although some may view it as a pessimistic way to look at life, I find it quite beautiful to think about. The more we live, the closer we are to our death. It’s eerie to think how everything can end so quickly.

Here’s a little preview of my drawing final, which is still in progress. I’m excited as to how it’s turning out so far :)

• No updates on my sketchbook.
There goes a semester + a month of sketches, illustrations, ideas and important notes.

• Finals are currently killing me at the moment.

• I’m more sleep deprived than ever.

• My hopes of adding more of my work on here have been pushed to summer.
